Chiropractic was founded/discovered by DD Palmer in 1895 and have developed and evolved for over 120 years. Chiropractors in Australia are a nationally registered and regulated health care profession.
A chiropractors goal is to improve general health. Assessing and managing of spine related and other musculoskeletal health conditions to improve patients quality of life and reduce risk factors associated with spinal pain and dysfunction.
Chiropractors use a patient centred care and provide a therapeutic approach to care that incorporates a range of manual therapies that may include spinal adjustments, mobilisations, muscle and soft tissue techniques as well as offering exercise advice, rehabilitation, basic nutritional recommendation and other lifestyle advice.
Chiropractors are non-pharmacological and non-surgical spine care experts within the health care system. Australian chiropractors have a broad five year university degree focused on the neuro- musculoskeletal system. When and if needed the chiropractor will communication and refer you on to other health care professionals.
